Open to God: a moment of change and renewal

Welcome to the Year of Mission.
The year – two years actually – will be built around a major set-piece event to take place at the Carmarthenshire Showground on May 23rd., the Saturday of Pentecost 2026. The Sunday will then be an opportunity for churches to celebrate in their own localities.

Sheridan James, Canon Pastor at St Davids Cathedral, provided details of the plans set out by the working group that will oversee the project in a presentation to the Diocesan Conference.
“It’s all about renewal and growth,” she said. “The idea is to help us be more missional and outward focused.”
At the heart of it all lies Code F: Celebration, Outreach, Discipleship, Evangelism, Fellowship.
Prayers for a Primate

Three students from Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi VA school in St Davids played a starring role in the enthronement of Archbishop Cherry Vann in Newport Cathedral on November 9th.
Holly Draper (Year 10), Padraic Fitzgerald (Year 8) and Eleanor Davies (Year 7), led the prayers alongside fellow students from St Teilo’s Church in Wales School, Cardiff that followed the enthronement ceremony during the service.
The service also featured the Carmarthenshire-based baritone Owain Wyn Rowlands who sang the Welsh-language Kyrie performed by Bryn Terfel at the King’s coronation.

Bridging the Ecumenical Divide
Gareth Reid, parish priest in Llandysul, describes a joyful coming together of two Christian traditions in a service that many in the congregation at St Tyssul's may not have experienced before.
