We know you love St Davids Cathedral

Will you be part of the 1% who safeguard her future, asks Canon Sheridan James

The COVID-19 pandemic, the cost of living crisis and global insecurity have created a tough economic climate for everyone. It’s tough for the Cathedral too.

We don’t receive any government support and we don’t have millions stashed in the bank.

The stark reality is that we survive largely thanks to the generosity of visitors.
Every pound counts and we’re extremely grateful for all you give.  However, since the pandemic, annual visitor numbers have dropped by a third (around 100,000).

The truth is that we are running at a deficit and eating into our reserves.

To safeguard the Cathedral’s future as an internationally renowned pilgrimage destination and a place of inspiring worship and stunning architecture, we urgently need to increase the amount we get from our visitors by £100,000.

This sounds like an impossible amount. But it needn’t be. St David was famous for saying, ‘Do the little things’ and you can play your part by doing one little thing.’

We’re looking for 1% of the 200,000 people who visit each year to step up and help the Cathedral to secure a firmer financial footing.

If 1% of our visitors gave just £10 a month to the Cathedral, we would close this financial gap.

And if 1,000 people gave £10 a month we would raise £120,000.

We’ve kept the maths simple. You could give more. You could give less. But if you love this Cathedral, please consider becoming one of the 1% who step up and make a massive difference.  To find out more contact info@stdavidscathedral.org.uk, visit Support us | St Davids Cathedral or go to the JustGiving page.
