Doing well, being well, together
Plant Dewi supports families across the Diocese of St Davids all year round, and from April 2023 – March 2024, 2885 families accessed groups, centres and the Baby Bundle Bank, as Manager Catrin Eldred reports
That is a great number of families that, without Plant Dewi projects, may not meet up with other families, have quality time together or receive the support they need.
As a thank you for all they do, on the 24th October, staff came together to enjoy a Wellbeing Retreat Day to switch off, connect and relax.
The day took place at the Better Health and Wellbeing Hub at Parc Dewi Sant, Carmarthen, with staff starting the day with a spiritual wellbeing session, led by Revd Justin Arnott, the Diocesan Social Responsibility Officer, at the chapel located at the site. The focus was on introducing staff to spiritual wellbeing, which gave time to connect with nature and time for visualisation.
Following this, a Zumba dance session was facilitated by Tracey Keeney Fitness, to give time for physical wellbeing, before enjoying some social time over a lovely lunch. To end the day, a relaxation session was led by Elaine Collins, from the Hub, supporting staff to switch off and benefit from full physical and mental relaxation.
Before leaving, all staff shared that they felt so much better than they had arriving that morning and benefited from the opportunity to come together and switch off from the hustle and bustle of life. A big thank you to all who contributed to the success of the day.
Bringing staff together is so important as we all go about our work in different parts of the diocese and we look forward to our next day together before Christmas to enjoy Christmas crafts and lunch.
