An Easter Message from St Davids Diocese
Dear Friends,
Easter is a time when we gather as Christians, to give God the praise and glory for the miracle of the Resurrection. Following His betrayal, trial, and death, God raised Jesus triumphant to the victory of life. Today, we share with Christians all over the world the joy of this miracle, which points us to the good news and hope that we too can share in His victory over sin and death. The Easter message reaffirms God’s never-ending love and grace and forms the essential foundation of the Christian faith.
1 Peter 1:3 “Praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”.
“He is Risen! The Lord is Risen Indeed!”. In the life of Christ, all things are made new. In the backdrop of Easter, his betrayal, rejection, the denial of His friends, wicked and false accusations brought against Him, and ultimately His death on the cross, God ensures that joy, peace, and love triumph over hatred, evil, sorrow, chaos, and even death.
In the difficulties we face, God is always moving to raise us from the dire circumstances which we encounter, raising us to a better place in life. Even when we are facing difficult and challenging times, He is there extending to us the hope of new life in Him.
Colossians 1:13-14 “For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins”.
Today, we reaffirm our hope in Jesus’ Resurrection, and are assured that whatever challenges we face God continues to be with us, loving us and upholding us in His Grace. In all our experiences of life we are certain that He will guide us, encourage and uphold us as we move forward in His life and love. In the trust we have in His promise, our faith empowers us to overcome all challenges. In our homes, work circumstances, church, Diocese or nation, let us commend ourselves, our whole lives to God, as we go forward in faith to face the many challenges of the future.
Revelation 1:17b-18b- “Don’t be afraid! I am the First and Last. I am the living one. I died but look-I am alive forever and ever.”
We are all so grateful for the support that you give, and the wonderful ministries which you offer. We rejoice in the fellowship which we share with you, and praise God for all that you do and the sacrifices you make in the name of the Risen Christ. May you enjoy a Blessed and peace filled Easter, and please, find time to rest after this busy time of the year for you in your churches.
In Christ,
Eileen, Archdeacon of Cardigan
