Arriving at the site of an early hermitage or chapel, one becomes aware of an echo reaching back centuries. Robin Gleed from Journeying, a Christian holiday company, outlines what’s on offer in 2026.

With the passage of time, it may be no more than a mound of stones with only the vaguest outline indicating its original use, But standing there, letting the place sink in, links the then with the now on a shared journey - an experience that is as joyful as humbling, and as awesome.
At this point whether one set out as pilgrim or not, one is a pilgrim.
Our pilgrim journeys take us through beautiful landscapes to places where for centuries people have felt especially close to God – sacred places, places of pilgrimage.
We warmly welcome anyone who feels the informality, ambience and rhythm of our days will help nurture their spiritual journey. Our groups are small, perhaps a maximum of twelve including two leaders who stay with the group throughout.
The 2026 programme includes journeys with long walks, short walks and some with elements of retreat:

- Llŷn Peninsula 16th – 23rd May.
- Caldey Island Pilgrimage retreat, 4th- 8th June
- Grasmere and Lake District. 14th – 19th June
- Monasticism in the Wye Valley. 6th – 11th July
- Canterbury, England. 17th – 24th August
- Tenby and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. 12th – 19th September
- Late Summer in Oxfordshire. 22nd – 25th September
