Dean of St David's | St David's Cathedral

Set on a spectacular Pembrokeshire peninsula St David's Cathedral has been a site of pilgrimage and worship for more than 800 years. Today this splendid building erected to the glory of God remains a vibrant, living church offering a place of peace for prayer and devotion.

In the Cathedral we aim to be joyful in expressing the good news of Jesus Christ to our hundreds of thousands of visitors and pilgrims. We strive to keep the faith passed on through the centuries, in our daily prayer and worship. And we hope that in the little things we do here day by day we will love and honour St David’s God and ours.

We seek a Dean to lead with vision, enthusiasm and a collegiate heart the team in St David's to face the challenges of running an ancient cathedral in these financially constrained times.

Our next Dean will be:

  • A faithful and prayerful teacher with a pastoral heart
  • An experienced leader with a track record of project management and delivery
  • A gifted steward
  • An advocate for excellence in music and liturgy
  • Able to work alongside others to achieve goals
  • An ambassador for the cathedral and the wider diocese

Whilst fluency in Welsh is not essential, candidates must be willing to become competent to lead services effectively.

Closing date for applications is: 14th August
Interviews to be held: 4th September
