The Church in Wales has set aside £100 million of its reserves to fund new evangelism projects across the Province.The fund is described as “a once-in-a-generation opportunity to resource confident and consistent evangelism. It aims to see people encounter Jesus, come to faith, be baptised and become disciples.”The money will be distributed as grants that will “enable the Church to develop new and exciting ways to share the good news about Jesus Christ – a message with the power to transform lives and communities across Wales”.There are two types of grant.Tier 1, is for applications up to £10,000, targeted mainly at Local Ministry Areas, for work which is both “innovative locally and replicable nationally”.Tier 2, is for grants of more than £10k for diocesan projects Cathedrals can also apply.The Allocation Group that will assess applications has listed several criteria that will be applied. The dates are:18th January19th March29th May16th July12th September26th NovemberTier 1 Fund grant applications will be considered at the 19th March and 12th September meetings only.Tier 2 Fund grant applications will be considered at all six meetings.
