Creating a wellbeing economy.
Jeremy Martineau invites you to help put faith at its centre
The Bible is full of directions on how to organise an economy, for whose benefit and in recognition that we can’t take wealth with us when we die, Deuteronomy 30 vv13-20 and Luke 12 vv131-21 as examples.
People of faith are motivated to show their faith in how they live, including how to shape their economy and that of the nation.
Wellbeing Economy Cymru is the Welsh branch of the global Wellbeing Economy Alliance (WEAll). Established in 2020, it works to promote an economy that prioritises human and environmental wellbeing over narrow measures of growth. Its goals align with the UN SDGs and the Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act.

The National Wellbeing Economy Festival of Ideas Forum is being held on Wednesday 12 November at Swansea Arena from 10:30-5:30 and open to everyone: community leaders, activists, policymakers, businesses, artists, academics and citizens.
● Exploring alternatives to extractive economic models (e.g., circular, regenerative, community-led approaches);
● Showcasing grassroots innovation and community-driven initiatives from across Wales;
● Examining how public policy, local action and collective imagination can reshape prosperity, care and place-based economies.
The theme is “Co‑creating an economy that works for the people and places of Wales”
I am encouraging the organisers to make space in the conference for a focus on the contribution from the faith communities. Come along and bear witness to your faith.
