Holy Communion

At Holy Communion blessed bread and wine is shared, by which we receive the body and blood of Jesus Christ. The congregation gives thanks for Jesus’ life, his death and resurrection and his continuing presence. See also Eucharist.

Prayer

Prayer sustains our human relationship with God and may involve words (formal or informal) or be silent. Prayer can involve adoration (‘I love you’), confession (‘sorry’), thanksgiving and supplication (‘please’).

Friday 27th March - Friday 30th April Exhibition by Greg Tricker

The Passion of Christ

Passion of Christ Exhbition Poster

This exhibition of sculptures and paintings takes us on a journey with Christ through his passion and resurrection and reflects the profound relationships encountered on the way.

Greg Tricker has gained international recognition for his insightful and simple sacred artwork. It is deeply rooted in the mystical tradition of modern British art and takes us ‘deeper into the Christ mystery,’ writes Tricker.

The qualities of myth and innocence of spirit, similar to the folk-art tradition, are characteristics of his work. He has created a number of spiritual books and exhibitions, including The Christ Journey, shown at Westminster, Gloucester and Salisbury Cathedrals as part of a major retrospective exhibition. See https://www.piano-nobile.com/

Meet Greg as he introduces us to the exhibition on Friday 27th March, 5pm.

Meditations on the Passion of Christ Mon 30th March & Mon 20th April; 2-3.30pm

Using the exhibition of Greg Tricker’s sculptures and paintings we make a journey with Christ through his passion and resurrection. We meet Him, as others have done, in the events of Holy Week and Easter.

Through narrative, poetry and prayer, explore the artwork in depth, reflecting on the profound relationships Jesus brought forth in others.

Led by Janet Ingram, Education & Pilgrimage Officer, St Davids Cathedral.
