Vandals hit Church school
Criminal Damage at Tremoilet School, Pendine
Police and Church officers in Carmarthenshire have issued an appeal for information after a significant incident of criminal damage occurred at the former Tremoilet VC School near Pendine.
Sometime during the weekend of 1st July, the school site was broken into with extensive damage being caused to the windows, bathroom fittings, with both fire alarm and electrical systems damaged beyond repair.
Having got onto the roof, they stripped an area of tiles and used them as missiles to smash the doors, also entering the attic space by breaking high level windows, then breaking through ceilings and to the floor below, leaving the building exposed to the elements.
We are very concerned not only for the safety of the site, but also for the welfare and safety of those who have broken in as their actions could have endangered their lives by carrying out this damage.
Scene of crime officers have visited the site gathering evidence and will also be increasing their patrols in the area over the coming weeks. They ask that those in the area remain vigilant while the site is secured further. A 360o surveillance system is being installed with a loud sounder alarm which will send video footage immediately to the property teams mobile phones, which will aid in early detection and to notify the police.
If anyone has any information regarding these incidents, please contact either the Diocesan Office on 01267 236 145 or the police on 101.
