Thank you, NHS
Hundreds of local people have paid tribute to Llanelli’s key workers at a special Thanksgiving service.
The multi-denominational service at the Selwyn Samuel Centre was organised by local churches in the Bro Lliedi Local Ministry Area and led by Revd Aidan Coleman.. Those present included serving men and women from many local caring organisations, the Mayor of Llanelli, Cllr Michael Cranham, the MP for Llanelli, Nia Griffith, and the Bishop of St Davids, Joanna Penberthy, who gave the address.
As well as hymns, there were also musical contributions from Hospital Notes, the local NHS choir, who sang the Coldplay classic Fix You and The Impossible Dream.
Local children displayed arts and craft work connected to the theme of thanksgiving for key workers’ service during the pandemic, some of which was paraded on stage.
Prayers were led by Revd David Jones of Greenfield Baptist Church, and Revd Jim Flanagan, a member of the Bro Lliedi ministry team.
