The Bishop of St Davids, Dorrien Davies, has issued the following statement following the announcement of HM the King's cancer diagnosis:

"Our prayers are with HM The king at this time. At this worrying time we reassure him, HM the Queen and the members of the Royal family of our love, support and prayers. It’s very important to remember that there are countless individuals and families who are being challenged in this way, we hold them also in our prayers and hearts. "

The Archbishop of Wales, Andrew John, has also issued this statement:

"I was deeply concerned to hear of The King’s illness, and we wish to assure him of our special prayers for his swift recovery to full health. His Majesty has always had a special relationship with the people of Wales, and I know they will hold him and his family in their hearts and in their thoughts at this time."
