Diocesan Secretary to retire

The St Davids Diocesan Secretary, Howard Llewellyn, is to retire at the end of December after seven years in the role.
A lawyer by profession, Mr Llewellyn took up the post shortly before the onset of the Covid pandemic of 2020 and was central in guiding the Diocese through the challenges it brought. He has also been an important figure in the transition from traditional parishes to the new Local Ministry Areas.
Tim Llewelyn, Chair of the Diocesan Board of Finance (DBF) said “On behalf the DBF, I want to express our deepest gratitude for all that Howard has contributed over the years. His calm and un-flustered approach, coupled with the wisdom and guidance he has consistently offered, has been invaluable.”
The process of finding a successor is now under way and the post is to be advertised in the next couple of weeks. It is hoped that the new Diocesan Secretary can be appointed in October, to start work in the new year.
