“It transformed my life”

It’s wonderful to hear that we are celebrating 10 years of NSM(L) ministry. The opportunities it has given to so many of us have been huge. When I was first approached to apply for this scheme, I was completely unaware that it existed, and yet it has been something that has transformed my life.

Whilst knowing in my heart that I was called to further my work and my life for Christ, I never dreamed that it was possible for me, a lifelong, full-time civil servant to train for ordination and continue with my professional life.

At first it was a struggle to juggle a full-time career and give the time required to learn, to train to be an ordained minister. I was very fortunate that I was able to reduce my workload and give more time to ministry.

It was good to train in my local LMA and have the training weekends within easy travelling distance and I was fortunate to have the best training incumbent and team possible to lead me during this sometime challenging time.

As well as the support and guidance given by those leading this scheme, I was so lucky to be training with a great group of people, from various walks of life, who will always remain very special, and I will always treasure the friendships made during this time.

I have now moved into full-time ministry and I feel privileged to serve in a lovely community. To anyone who feels called to NSM(L) ministry, you’ll never look back.
