Fishguard Women

Part of the Year of Legends 2017 Jemima Nicholas is hailed as the heroine of Fishguard for her role in defeating the Last Invasion of Britain in 1797 – an American-led French revolutionary squadron that came ashore on the cliffs of the Pencaer peninsula near Fishguard.   Her grave and memorial stone are in the churchyard of St Mary’s church in central Fishguard.
