The Uffizi Gallery in Florence is arguably the oldest of its kind in the world, and one of the most important

First established in 1560, it was created within a building that originally housed municipal offices, in order to display the art collection of the Medici family, who ruled Florence for over 200 years

The images in this gallery are photographs of works on display at the Uffizi. The gallery permits photography, and the reproduction of images, provided (a) that they are not used for commercial benefit and (b) that they are of low resolution
