There’s to be a public consultation over plans to replace Haverfordwest VC School and one other with a new 3-11 community school
The consultation period runs from February 7th – March 23rd. There will also be two public meetings in the Pembrokeshire Archives office at 6pm on February 5th and February 8th
Meetings will also be held with governors and staff from both schools, plus governors from the other church school in the town, St Mark’s. Pupils are also being encouraged to have their say.
The plan is to merge pupils from Haverfordwest VC Primary and Mount Airey CP schools into the new organisation, which will use the same buildings and facilities.
The consultation follows a preliminary consultation in 2016 on all English-medium primary education in Haverfordwest, comprising the following schools; Fenton Community Primary School, Haverfordwest Church in Wales VC School, Mary Immaculate School, Mount Airey CP School, Portfield School, Prendergast CP School, St Mark’s Church in Wales VA Primary School and Ysgol Gymraeg Glan Cleddau.
