The Diocese of St Davids is embarking on a far reaching structural and operational change, moving towards larger united parishes.
This calls for priests and lay people to come together in Local Ministry Area (LMA) teams, to re-order ministry and mission that will fit our Church and Diocese for the future. We therefore need ministers who are accommodating of change, flexible in outlook and approach and excellent team players
To serve in the established Local Ministry Area of Bro Lliedi, Llanelli.
Llanelli is looking for a priest-in-charge who will pay a pivotal role within a busy team that is being challenged in a large and socially demanding Local Ministry Area.
Llanelli is a post-industrial town of approx. 35,000 people which has seen recent investment in a regeneration programme including out-of-town retail parks and a coastline housing development.
We are seeking to engage an inspiring priest who would be capable of bringing a fresh and vibrant approach to church life and witness. He or she would need to have ideas and strategies for engagement with the wider community, with a desire to bring people to faith.
This person would be an excellent communicator and well used to working as part of a team. The successful applicant will join a ministry team of ordained and lay people who are seeking to build up the church, develop youth work and encourage a vision for growth and outreach. A working knowledge of Welsh would be advantageous.
