Priest-in-Charge, Carmarthen

This job has closed. Other vacancies...

To serve initially in St Peters Church, Carmarthen, and then Priest in Charge within the Bro Caerfyrddin LMA.

St Peter’s church is in the historic county town of Carmarthen, with a rich cultural and civic heritage, good schools and communication links. It has a sister church of St John, which ministers to the Welsh speaking congregation and is closely associated too with the village church of St David, Abergwili.

We are looking for an effective, innovative priest who will encourage growth and serve the wider community in bringing people to faith. He or she will be an excellent team player and leader; skilled in communication and empowering others; able to unify convergent groups and congregations and work effectively with clergy and lay colleagues alike.

The successful applicant will then become Priest in Charge within the Bro Caerfyrddin LMA, incorporating the former Deanery of Carmarthen, which will come into being by Autumn 2019.

The applicant will be prepared to face the challenges of developing and leading congregations through this change of structure and ministry. A working knowledge of Welsh would be advantageous.
