Festival of Hymns
Thu 20 July, 8.00 pmFree
English and Welsh, old an new…
Part of the Annual Conference of The Hymn Society of Great Britain and Ireland.
The conference is held in a different UK venue every year, and this year it is to take place at the University of Wales Trinity St Davids, Carmarthen, marking the 300th Anniversary of the birth of William Williams Pantycelyn.
About eighty people, some from overseas, will be taking part in this year’s conference and they will provide the strong core of the congregation at the Festival.
The hymns will be introduced by Dr Rhidian Griffiths, of the National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth, and the organ accompaniment will be by Swansea-born Huw Williams, recently appointed Director of Music at Bath Abbey, and before that Organist at St Paul’s Cathedral London.
The congregation of Christ Church welcomes these conference participants, and would like to welcome you too. It is sure to be an uplifting occasion, and we hope you will be pleased to be a part of it.
