RB FM is a hospital radio station based at Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth. But it reaches out way beyond the wards and is popular with listeners across the area.
Established in 1970, it is run entirely by volunteers and offers a 24/7 mix of music and chat for the benefit primarily of hospital patients, visitors and staff but also for the local community.
Every Thursday morning, the Brunch Show between 10 and 11am features guests from the local church community. This is the schedule for May 2017:
May 4th MALCOLM DYE, church warden at St Anne’s Penparcau talks about his work as Organiser of the Jubilee Storehouse food bank
May 11th SYD SMITH, church warden at All Saints Church, Llangorwen, describes life as a volunteer with Hahav (Hospice at Home Aberystwyth Volunteers), a charitable organisation providing practical, social and emotional support to patients and carers in their own homes.
May 18th PHIL NIXON, an intern at St Michael’s, Aberystwyth, ius one of the Night Light street pastors team, which assists vulnerable people on the streets on Friday nights. He also volunteers with St Johns Ambulance
May 25th KEITH JONES is a lay reader in the Bro Padarn Local Ministry Area around LLANBADARN Fawr and was chaplain to Aberystwyth Town FC for ten years before his retirement earlier this month.
